Hawks Get 2nd in 1st AAA Tournament

      The Hawks competed in their first ever AAA tournament this past weekend in Cedar Rapids. In their first game the Hawks took on Cedar Rapids Prarie. The Hawks lost 5-3 as they couldn't get that bats going. In their 2nd game the Hawks took on the Quad City Heat. Hunter Dingman was very good on the mound through 3 innings, but Quad City pulled away and won 8-3. After a fun night at the hotel the hawks took on Vinton on Sunday. Nate Janssen drew a walk-off walk to win 6-5. That gave the Hawks a 3 seed. Once again the Hawks took on Prarie. Jake Rood tossed a cmplete game shutout as the Hawks won 5-0. That put the Hawks in the championship game. The Hawks got down 8-2, but scored 3 in the 4th to make it 8-5. They just didn't have enough left and they lost 10-5. After the 2nd place finish the Hawks will head to Waterloo for a AAA/Major Tournament.
